Evening Fireworks/Fest/Fair/Party Forecast 🎆

Heading out to a festival, fair, or fireworks display this evening? Hosting a party at home this evening? Here’s what to expect…

The weather will remain very fluid through the rest of today and tonight. An initial round of t’storms moved across Northern Illinois this morning and afternoon, with some occurrences of severe weather. Meanwhile, isolated pop-up summertime t’storms have developed across portions of Central and Southern Illinois this afternoon.

Another round of t’storms is expected to develop late this afternoon and this evening across portions of Northern, and perhaps Central, Illinois. Some of these storms could organize into loose clusters and track across Northern Illinois through the evening and into tonight. Some of this more organized activity will likely make it into portions of Central Illinois tonight as well. An isolated severe weather threat will accompany this activity, as well as a localized flooding threat.

Across the remainder of Central and Southern Illinois, isolated to scattered pop-up summertime t’storms will remain possible through the rest of this afternoon, this evening, and into early tonight.

Outside of t’storms, conditions will remain hot and humid. Areas that receive t’storms will experience cooler temperatures, though humidity will remain high.

We’ll have another update later this evening focused specifically on the latest short-term forecast for July 3rd fireworks displays across the state! 🎇
