Heat Wave Continues, But Gradual Wind Down Begins 🌡️
While the peak of the heat wave has passed, hot and humid conditions will continue across much of Illinois today. However, the slow wind-down begins, with portions of Northern Illinois seeing some improvement compared to the past several days.
High temperatures will climb into the upper 80’s to mid 90’s across much of the state, with a few locations potentially reaching the upper 90’s across Southern Illinois. Peak heat index values will range from 95–110°, with locally higher values possible, especially across Southern Illinois.
