4th of July Weather Forecast 🎆

Mother Nature may decide to put on a fireworks show of her own today… and if you’re hosting a party or heading to a festival, fair, or fireworks display, the weather may leave you scrambling at times!

The weather will be very fluid today and tonight, with conditions capable of changing quickly.

As a disturbance (MCV) moves through the region, scattered t’storms are expected to develop during the midday into the afternoon across portions of Northern and Western/West-Central Illinois, extending into Missouri. This activity may organize into one or two loose clusters or lines as it moves across much of the state through the afternoon, evening, and into tonight. A severe weather threat will exist with some of this activity, along with a localized flooding threat.

Ahead of the t’storms, hot and humid conditions will persist across the southern half of Illinois for one final day. Across the northern half of the state, temperatures and humidity levels will be noticeably lower than they have been for much of the past week, providing more comfortable conditions outside of any t’storms.

We’ll have another update later this evening with the latest short-term forecast for July 4th fireworks displays across Illinois! 🎇
