Severe Weather Threat Today/Tonight ⚡
While a few showers/t’storms have occurred this morning/afternoon across far Northern Illinois, the main focus is for later this afternoon into tonight across the state.
Scattered t’storms/severe t’storms are developing this afternoon across portions of Southeastern Minnesota, Northeastern Iowa and Central/Southern Wisconsin, along and a head of an advancing cold front. This activity will track southeastward, eventually into and across Northern Illinois from late this afternoon through early tonight. A severe weather threat will be possible with this activity, isolated to widely scattered in coverage.
Further south, a complex of t’storms/severe t’storms will develop this evening and early tonight across Kansas and Central Missouri. This activity will grow upscale into a complex (MCS), which may move into Southwestern Illinois and vicinity very late tonight or early Wednesday morning. Some severe weather threat will be possible with this activity, isolated in coverage.
