While a cold front has swept across much of the state, Southern Illinois has remained ahead of it, setting the stage for one final day of hot and humid conditions in this stretch.
High temperatures will climb into the upper 80’s to mid 90’s across Southern Illinois, where peak heat index values of 100–115° are expected.
Elsewhere across the state, mild to warm temperatures and much more comfortable humidity levels can be expected.
