(8:45AM – Friday, February 14th, 2025) A brief look at the weather conditions expected across the state for Valentines Day, and more specifically, for late this afternoon through early tonight, for whoever may have V-Day plans.
A cool and cloudy day and night is expected across the state, with wintry precipitation expected to develop and traverse a large portion of Northern and Central Illinois, from this afternoon through tonight. While snow will be favored across Northern Illinois, some mixed precipitation may also be possible. Snow may be moderate to heavy at times, with snowfall accumulation of a dusting to 1-3” likely, locally higher. Across Central Illinois, mixed precipitation will be likely. Minor wintry precipitation accumulation is likely, including a glaze of ice and dusting of snow/pellets.
Temperatures will be cool and slightly below average. Temperatures during the afternoon, through the evening and tonight, will range from the 20’s across Northern Illinois, upper 20’s to mid 30’s across Central Illinois, and mid 30’s to low 40’s across Southern Illinois.
