(5:30PM Mon, October 30th, 2023) A brief look at the weather conditions expected across the state for Halloween on Tuesday, October 31st.
Temperatures will be chilly, with high temperatures only expected to top out in the 30’s across much of the state. Breezy conditions are expected as well, especially across Northern and Eastern Illinois, which will lead to wind chills as low as the 20’s during the day. Temperatures will drop into the 20’s on Halloween night, with continued breezy conditions allowing for some wind chills in the 10’s to be possible.
A potent disturbance will be moving through the region on Halloween, bringing scattered snow showers/squalls across the state on Halloween and into Halloween night, especially across Northern and Central Illinois. It is even possible that a bit of lake effect snow may occur across portions of Northeastern Illinois as well. While widespread snow accumulations are not expected, it is quite possible that some areas that pick up multiple heavier snow showers/squalls may see a dusting of snow—perhaps up to around 1″ in very isolated areas.
