A generally hot and dry day is expected across much of the state. Isolated showers and t’storms will be possible across portions of Northern Illinois during the morning as a weakening complex of activity passes mostly to the north of the state. Outside of this potential activity, a generally dry day is expected across the state. Temperature wise, hot conditions are expected, with high temperatures ranging from the upper 80’s to the upper 90’s from north to south across the state. Elevated heat index values of 90–103 are expected across the state.
