Wed-Fri, March 13-15th Severe T’Storm Event Update #5

(11:00AM – Thursday, March 14th, 2024) Thursday morning update on a storm system moving through the region that will bring another round of showers and t’storms, with severe t’storm potential, to the state through very eary Friday morning.

Update…
•With this update, we have increased severe t’storm probabilities on today’s/tonight’s severe t’storm forecast. This change was made due to increased confidence and agreement in the scenario expected to unfold.

Timing & Location…
•Thursday Morning – Early Friday Morning, March 14-15th: Much of Illinois.

Impacts…
•A level 1 to 3 severe t’storm risk is in place across much of Illinois from Thursday morning through early Friday morning. Isolated to scattered severe t’storms will be likely, posing a risk of large hail, damaging winds, and an isolated tornado. Environmental conditions will be supportive of the possibility of occurrences of hail larger than 2.00”.
