Final Day of the Heat Wave Today 🌡️
We’ve reached the final day of the current heat wave, with one more day of hot temperatures and oppressive heat indices expected across portions of the state.
Behind a passing cold front, cooler and less humid air will filter into Northern and Central Illinois. As a result, the main focus today shifts to Southern Illinois, where high temperatures in the low to mid 90’s are expected. Combined with high humidity, peak heat index values will climb into the 100–115° range.
