Brief Heat Wave Expands Today 🌡️
Hot temperatures and oppressive heat indices will expand across the state today as a brief heat wave continues.
High temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s will be common across much of Illinois, with hotter readings in the mid to upper 90s across Northwestern, Western and Southwestern Illinois.
High humidity will push peak heat index values into the upper 90s to around 115° across the state, with the most oppressive conditions expected across Northwestern, West-Central and Southern Illinois.
