(7:00PM Mon, July 31st 2023) A brief recap of the heat wave that impacted the state, from Tuesday, July 25th trough Saturday, July 29th. A ridge built into the Central US during this period, with a push of hot and humid conditions accompanying it across the state during a multi-day period. The most oppressive and highest coverage conditions occurred Wednesday through Friday (July 26-28th), when temperatures across the entire state ranged from the low 90’s to low 100’s, with peak heat index values of 100-125.
