A dreary, cloudy, and wet Christmas holiday period is expected across the state. Cloudy skies will be abundant across the state on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. As multiple disturbances move through the region, periods of rain showers can be expected across the state. Rain showers will be likely across Southern Illinois on Christmas Eve, with rain showers likely across much larger portion of the state on Christmas Day. Temperatures will be a bit above average and mild. High temperatures on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will range from the low to upper 30’s across Northern Illinois, mid 30’s to mid 40’s across Central Illinois, and mid 40’s to low 50’s across Southern Illinois.
