Severe Weather Threat Returns Tonight ⚡
We’ll preface this by saying that the overall threat is quite low. However, with that said, the first severe weather threat in several weeks has arrived!
We’ve been closely monitoring trends over the past 24–36 hours and finally feel there is just enough support to outline a marginal severe weather risk across a good portion of Northern and Central Illinois for later this evening through tonight.
In general, scattered to widespread showers and t’storms are expected to develop and traverse Northern and Central Illinois from this evening through tonight. An isolated severe t’storm cannot be ruled out with this activity, with hail and/or damaging winds being the primary threats.
