Thur, May 2nd Severe T’Storm Episode Update #3

(11:30PM – Wednesday, May 1st, 2024) Wednesday night update on a storm system that will move through the region, bringing a round of rain and t’storms to the state from Thursday into Thursday night, with the potential for severe t’storms.

Update…
•With this update, no changes were needed on the severe t’storm forecast for Thursday/Thursday night.

Timing…
•Thursday Midday – Thursday Night, May 2nd.

Location…
•Much of Illinois.

Impacts…
•A level 1 severe t’storm risk is in place across much of Illinois from Thursday midday through Thursday night for the likelihood of isolated severe t’storms. Hail, damaging winds, and an isolated tornado will be the threats with activity. Scattered showers and t’storms will traverse the state from Thursday morning through Friday morning. An isolated severe t’storm threat may be possible with some of this activity in the outlooked areas from midday Thursday through Thursday night.
