(11:45AM – Wednesday, February 18th, 2025) Severe t’storm chances arrive for Thursday…

⚠️Update…
•With this update, we have upgraded severe t’storm probabilities to a level 2 risk across portions of Eastern and Southeastern Illinois. This change was made based on increasing confidence that slightly higher coverage severe t’storm activity will be possible within this area.

Timing…
•Thursday Morning – Thursday Evening, February 19th.

📍Location…
•Central & Southern Illinois.

⚡️💨Hazards…
•A level 1 to 2 severe t’storm threat is in place across portions Central and all of Southern Illinois from Thursday morning through Thursday evening, for the threat of isolated to widely scattered severe t’storms. Damaging winds, small hail and a couple of tornadoes will be the main threats with activity.

✔️Summary…
•As a storm system moves through the region, impactful weather is possible across the state on Thursday.
•Waves of scattered rain and t’storm activity will traverse the state between Thursday morning and Thursday evening, as a warm front lifts northward across the state and then a cold front sweeps eastward across the state. Of focus will be Central and Southern Illinois, where a round or two severe t’storms may be possible with some of this activity from Thursday morning through Thursday evening.
