Fri-Mon, Aug 4-7th Severe T’Storm Episode Update #4

(10:00 PM Sat, August 5th 2023) Saturday night update on multiple disturbances and a main storm system, all of which will continue to move through the region through Monday. This pattern will continue to support chances for periods of rain/t’storms and severe t’storms across portions of the state, through early Monday morning.

Update…
•The severe t’storm threat for tonight has ended for Eastern and Southern Illinois. No additional severe t’storms are anticipated across the state tonight.
•With this update little in the way of changes were needed on the severe t’storm forecast for Sunday/Sunday night.

Timing & Location…
•Early Sunday Morning – Early Monday Morning, August 6-7th: Much of Illinois.

Impacts…
•A level 1 to 2 severe t’storm risk is in place across much of Illinois, from early Sunday morning through early Monday morning. Isolated to widely scattered severe t’storms will be possible, posing a risk of damaging winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes.
