(12:00PM Fri, August 4th 2023) With the main upper level flow/jet stream across the region, multiple disturbances and a main storm system are expected to move through the region through Sunday night. This pattern will support daily chances for rain/t’storms and severe t’storms across portions of the state, tonight through Sunday night.

•This Afternoon – Early Saturday Morning, August 4-5th: Western & Southwestern Illinois.
•Early Saturday Morning – Early Sunday Morning, August 5-6th: Much of Illinois.
•Early Sunday Morning – Sunday Night, August 6th: Much of Illinois.

Impacts…
•A level 1 to 2 severe t’storm risk is in place across Western and Southwestern Illinois, from this afternoon through early Saturday morning. Isolated to widely scattered severe t’storms will be possible, posing a risk of damaging winds, large hail and an isolated tornado.
