(8:30PM Thur, July 27th 2023) Thursday update on a ridge that has built into the region, nad has been bringing a push of hot and humid conditions to the state. These conditions are expected to continue for a through the first half of this weekend. Daily chances for rain/t’storms across portions of the state may temper conditions at times for some areas.

Update…
•With this update we have made some slight adjustments to expected high temperatures and peak heat indices expected for affected areas over the next few days.

•Fri, July 28th: Much of Illinois.
•Sat, July 29th: Southern Illinois.

Impacts…
•Fri, July 28th: High temperatures of 90-102 across much of Illinois, with peak heat indices of 95-120.
•Sat, July 29th: High temperatures of 88-97 across Central and Southern Illinois, with peak heat indices of 93-110.
