Tue-Wed, July 25-26th Severe T’Storm Episode

(11:30AM Tues, July 25th 2023) A few disturbances moving through the region today into Wednesday will bring the chance for a round or two of rain/t’storms to portions of the state, including some severe t’storm threat. This setup will be a product of the mean upper level flow sitting across the region, along the northeastern periphery of a ridge that is building in across the region, which extends back into the Desert Southwest and Central/Southern Plains.

Timing & Location…

•This Morning – Early Wednesday Morning, July 25-26th: Much of Illinois.

•A level 1 severe t’storm risk is in place across much of Illinois, from this morning through early Wednesday morning. Isolated severe t’storms will be possible, posing a risk of damaging winds and large hail.
