(8:30PM Wed, Jan 3rd) In the wake of a departing storm system that brought snow to portions of the state today, a renewed push of cold air will be settling in across the state the next several days.
This push of cold air will not be as severe as the recent period of record cold, but it will still be noteworthy. High temperatures Thursday-Saturday will range from the single digits across Northern Illinois to the teens across Southern Illinois. Low temps tonight through Friday night will likely be below zero across much of Northern and Central Illinois, with single digits across Southern Illinois. Very cold wind chill values are likely once again, ranging from -5 to -25 across Northern and Central Illinois, to 0 to -15 across Southern Illinois.
