Active weather will continue, with another disturbance set to move through the region, bringing thunderstorms and severe weather on Wednesday for portions of the state.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible across portions of Western and Northwest Illinois during the morning. In the wake of this activity, some clearing and destabilization will occur during the afternoon. The amount of destabilization and clearing seen will likely dictate the significance of the afternoon and evening thunderstorm and severe weather threat. It looks like there should be enough clearing for modest instability, along with modest moisture in place. Thunderstorms are likely to develop across Iowa and Missouri late morning and into the afternoon. This activity will push northeast, reaching Western and Northwest Illinois by mid-late afternoon. This activity will sweep northeastward across much of Northern and Central Illinois. Some of these storms will be severe, especially across Northwest Illinois. All modes of severe weather will be possible with any severe storm.
