Radar Trends Showing Snow Developing Across Central and Northern IL With Mixed Precip Further South Between I-72 and I-74

Going forecast across Central IL looks decent overall with only minor adjustments needed. The mixed precipitation threat will likely edge a bit further north than previously anticipated. Expect a mix of snow and sleet to push as far north as Bloomington and northeast across the remainder of East Central IL. With snow filling in north of this line, expect higher totals where precip remains all snow. Totals from Galesburg to Peoria should be in the 2-4”+ range through tomorrow afternoon. With areas south and east now likely seeing at least some mixed precip, expect totals to fall in the 1-3.5” range from Quincy northeast into Bloomington. Snowfall totals will continue to drop off as you head south due to greater duration of mixed precipitation. Along and north of I-72 from Including the cities of Springfield, Lincoln, Decatur and Champaign expecting 0.10-0.20” ice accumulation with only a trace to 1” of snow. Further south closer to I-70, expect slightly lower ice totals with no snow accumulation.
