Going forecasting still looks to be pretty solid for the remainder of the week. Tonight through Thursday still appears to remain dry ahead of our the approaching system slated to impact the region Thursday night through Saturday. A frontal boundary will begin sink south working it’s way into southern Illinois by Thursday evening. Multiple shortwaves will ride along the stalled boundary bringing waves of precipitation Thursday night through Saturday. Temperatures will likely need tweaked depending on where the front sets up. Overall precipitation totals doesn’t look substantial at this moment given the weakening trend the low should experience as it moves off to the east but we’ll continue to monitor trends as we get closer in case any flooding/flash flooding issues arise. It’s possible that overnight Friday into Saturday areas along I-70 may experience a mix of rain/snow but no accumulation is currently expected.

I should also note that no severe weather is expected at this time across southern IL with this system.
