After some much needed drought-busting rains, we finally get a few days to dry out! Just in time for the weekend too!
This weekend is shaping up to be really nice. The perfect way to welcome the start of Meteorological Spring, if you ask me (Meteorological Spring begins March 1st as opposed to the Spring Equinox on March 20). Make sure to get out and enjoy it!
We’re going to be looking at rather tranquil weather all weekend inching a little warmer each day, albeit still hovering around seasonal normals. Friday and Saturday morning will have chilly starts but will rebound nicely during the day with sunny skies and winds out of the south (generally). Sunday will be the warmest as the surface ridge slides into the Great Lakes region allowing us to dip into the 60s ahead of an approaching system that will bring a brief end to our tranquil weather and provide some light precipitation as we start the work week.
Tonight – Mostly clear. Lows falling into the lower 30s.
Friday – Sunny. Highs in the low – mid 50s with lows around the freezing mark.
Saturday – Sunny. Highs in the mid – upper 50s with lows at or slightly above freezing.
Sunday – Sunny. Highs in the upper 50s – lower 60s with lows only falling into the lower-middle 40s and increasing clouds. Chance of showers from St. Louis to Mt. Vernon.
Monday – Mostly cloudy. Highs in the mid-upper 50s with rain showers likely.
Updates on precipitation amounts will follow in subsequent forecasts but minimal impacts are expected at this point in time.
